An invitation to all the men at MPBC & in the community.

Perhaps 2009 has been a challenging year for you as it might have been for some of us but let’s thanks God for His goodness to us.

Lets our prayer be that in 2010 we might surrender our life in a better way than we have done in 2009.

Our challenges in 2009 have been the ministry vision Statement and the 5 promises of God for us men found in PSALM 1:1-3 & Jeremiah 17:7-8.

Ø ”Being an encouragement to one another and within our fellowship to be drawn closer to God”.

Ø “Be committed and accountable to one another in seeking God’s wisdom and strength to better serve Him and our families”.

Five promises of God for us men in our vision statement, based on PSALM & Jeremiah.

God’s:

¨ Provision to us.

¨ Sense of purpose in us.

¨ Availability for us.

¨ Leadership within us.

¨ Mercy toward us.

Psalm 1:1-3

¹God blesses those people who refuse evil advice and won't follow sinners or join in sneering at God.

²Instead, the Law of the LORD makes them happy, and they think about it day and night.

³They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do.

Jeremiah 17:7-8.

⁷But I will bless those who trust me.

⁸They will be like trees growing beside a stream trees with roots that reach down to the water, and with leaves that are always green.

They bear fruit every year and are never worried by a lack of rain.

In addition to the ministry vision Statement is also the church covenant which reminds us that,

Ø by the power of the Holy Spirit, to walk and work together in Christian love;

Ø Watching over, praying for, and encouraging one another,

Ø Guarding each others reputation,

Ø Bearing each others burdens,

Ø Sharing each others joys and sorrows,

Ø Cultivating Christian courtesy and sympathy,

Ø Being slow to take offence, and ready always for reconciliation.

So let us continue to challenge ourselves in 2010 by participating in this ministry.

It’s my hope and prayer to continue serving God and you in this ministry at Moonee Ponds Church and most important that through this all men would be drawn closer to God, to see the strengthening of their families as well as serving God and the church in a better way in 2010.

MPBC is about all kinds of people coming together to be a community of love, faith, hope, joy and peace centred in Jesus. We are a diverse group united by our repentance and faith in the death, resurrection and coming again of Jesus Christ. We seek to be the blessing of God to each other and to help each other grow in our understanding and experience of God's love. It is exciting to be the Lord's people together. We seek to be active and responsive in the Lord's work. This might mean food parcels or playgroups or the Life of Jesus course or holding services in retirement places or... Thank you for visiting our website. We wish you the blessing of belonging to a Christian community wherever you are or whoever you are!

The Pastors.

Services this Sunday 5 September is a special father's day celebration. Worship Celebration is @ 10am and 2pm services. There will be Hi imPACT, creche, KOSMIC for children and a JAM Youth session. We would love to connect with you at the Cafe after the service. Come and join us for a cuppa we would love to see you! Thirty Days of prayer booklet for the month of August and September is available in the church foyer.

We've had an amazing two on the series from Galatians by pastor Jonathan and will continue this Sunday. Come and bring your friends along. There will be afternoon tea at the cafe. We also provide a kids program from 1 - 10yo. Check us out!

Foodbank and 'The Meal'. We want you to know that we have food parcels available on any day of the week-whenever there is someone at the church to handle enquiries. Also there is a 'community meal' every Monday night between 6pm and 7pm. We start at 6pm and diners are free to 'eat and run' or stay a while. Like the food parcels the meal is a free community service.

Hi imPACT is a worship time for children and their parents. It meets in the Big Hall at 10am each Sunday and finishes at 10.30 am, when the children go to KOSMIC* and Creche and teens go to JAM*. About 100 children and their parents enjoy Hi imPACT because it is worship with fun as well as some serious moments. Most of the older teens go into the Worship Celebration held in the sanctuary at 10am and then into the JAM session at 10.30am. Parents who have been a part of Hi imPACT join the Worship Celebration in the sanctuary for prayer and for preaching and on the first Sunday of each month, Communion. We catch up with each other in the Cafe.

*KOSMIC stands for Kids On Sunday Morning In Church.
*JAM stands for Jesus And Me.
