Moonee Ponds Baptist Church Men's Ministry

An invitation to all the men at MPBC & in the community.

Perhaps 2009 has been a challenging year for you as it might have been for some of us but let’s thanks God for His goodness to us.

Lets our prayer be that in 2010 we might surrender our life in a better way than we have done in 2009.

Our challenges in 2009 have been the ministry vision Statement and the 5 promises of God for us men found in PSALM 1:1-3 & Jeremiah 17:7-8.

Ø ”Being an encouragement to one another and within our fellowship to be drawn closer to God”.

Ø “Be committed and accountable to one another in seeking God’s wisdom and strength to better serve Him and our families”.

Five promises of God for us men in our vision statement, based on PSALM & Jeremiah.

God’s:

¨ Provision to us.

¨ Sense of purpose in us.

¨ Availability for us.

¨ Leadership within us.

¨ Mercy toward us.

Psalm 1:1-3

¹God blesses those people who refuse evil advice and won't follow sinners or join in sneering at God.

²Instead, the Law of the LORD makes them happy, and they think about it day and night.

³They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do.

Jeremiah 17:7-8.

⁷But I will bless those who trust me.

⁸They will be like trees growing beside a stream trees with roots that reach down to the water, and with leaves that are always green.

They bear fruit every year and are never worried by a lack of rain.

In addition to the ministry vision Statement is also the church covenant which reminds us that,

Ø by the power of the Holy Spirit, to walk and work together in Christian love;

Ø Watching over, praying for, and encouraging one another,

Ø Guarding each others reputation,

Ø Bearing each others burdens,

Ø Sharing each others joys and sorrows,

Ø Cultivating Christian courtesy and sympathy,

Ø Being slow to take offence, and ready always for reconciliation.

So let us continue to challenge ourselves in 2010 by participating in this ministry.

It’s my hope and prayer to continue serving God and you in this ministry at Moonee Ponds Church and most important that through this all men would be drawn closer to God, to see the strengthening of their families as well as serving God and the church in a better way in 2010.
