ABC of MPBC by age
CHILDREN
- PLAYGROUPS are held each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. These groups are run by the church. Other playgroups use the children's centre at other times. For further information on playgroups, contact Mrs Jess Weston via the church office on 03 9326 2499.
- CRECHE operates each Sunday morning as a part of our 10am morning church. It is held in the children's centre down the ramp and off the car park. It includes a teaching segment for three year olds.
- KIDS CLUB. Every Friday afternoon from 4pm till 5.15pm. From 3 year old to grade 6.
- KOSMIC stands for Kids On Sunday Morning In Church. Children from kindergarten up to year 9 are included in Kosmic each Sunday morning.
- CRE. Christian Religious Education classes are held at many of the local primary schools.
YOUTH, TERTIARY
- JAM. Jam stands for Jesus And Me and is the name given to our youth ministry.
- YOUNG ADULTS. 18-25s are looked after by Pastor Jonathan and team.
FAMILIES
- Hi-imPACT. Hi-imPACT is made up of parents and their children who meet together of a Sunday morning at 10am to worship as parents and children together. At about 10.30, the children go to creche, Hi-imPACT or to Jam. The parents join the Worship Celebration.
ADULTS
- There are a number of small groups that meet in homes during the week and we encourage everyone to be part of a small group.
- OVER 25s. Meet of a Thursday night for Bible study and for outings. The more the merrier.
- MEN'S MINISTRY - Through this ministry, all men at MPBC would be drawn closer to God as well as seeing the strengthening of their families and the church
SENIORS
- OUT AND ABOUTERS have an activity each month. This group is made up of retirees and seniors. Apart from outings and pleasant afternoons there are three luncheons held throughout the year.
MEMBERS
- CHURCH MEETING. The church meets to discuss business four times a year, normally after morning church. The AGM is held in July.
ALL
- AGAPE CAFE is held every Sunday after morning church in the big hall.
- CCC is shorthand for Craft, Chat and Chew. This ministry occurs on a Tuesday morning during the school term any time after 10am. CCC is held in the hall.
- CHURCH USAGE. The church facilities are available for personal or community use on an application basis. An application form and a list of conditions is available from the church office.
- COMMUNITY FESTIVALS. We take part in the Moonee Valley Children's Day activity in October and also Carols by Candlelight. Both occasions are organised by the City of Moonee Valley and are held in Queens Park.
- COMMUNITY MEAL. There is a meal provided of a Monday night. People we meet through the Foodbank are invited to enjoy us. Great food and great friends! We eat at 6pm.
- CROSSPATCH. Crosspatch is a craft group that meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, 7.30pm.
- DEACONS. The Deacons are members of the church who are appointed by the church meeting to oversight all matters relating to the church in association with the pastors. Each deacon is appointed for a term of two years. The Deacons meet once a month. The Deacons appoint the Secretary and Treasurer for the church. They and the senior pastor make up the Executive of the church.
- FACT stands for Fellowship And Catering Team. This team oversights all catering arrangements including morning teas, breakfasts, luncheons and suppers.
- FOODBANK. A ministry started up in April 2002. Food parcels are given to those referred to us in our local area.
- MISSIONS. The church supports a number of missionary partners. The missions team meets each month on the second Tuesday.
- MUSICIANS AND SINGERS. All musicians and singers are welcome to participate in our Sunday services. Rehearsals are held each Sunday at 9am.
- PASTORAL CARE. The Pastoral Care team oversees pastoral care and prays. Much pastoral care happens in home groups.
- PROPERTY. The rebuilding project commenced on Friday, 26th January, 1994. The property team meets each month and manages the rebuilding programme and all maintenance on the church property and the manse.
- RESOURCE CENTRE is open every Sunday morning after 10am morning church. Books, tapes, CDs magazines can be borrowed. Often there is a bookstall offering new books for sale.
- SUNDAY MORNING CELEBRATION (10AM) every Sunday morning in the sanctuary. This service is followed by a cuppa in the Sunday School hall. Communion is held every first Sunday of the month.
- TRAINING COURSES. The church seeks to run courses each year.
