ABC of MPBC
This alphabetical list should tell you many of the things you would like to know.
| AGAPE CAFE | is held every Sunday after morning church in the big hall. |
| ARDMILLAN PLACE | is where some of us go every fourth Sunday morning to minister to seniors. Ardmillan Place is a local retirement facility. |
| CRAFT, CHAT, CHEW | CCC occurs on Tuesday mornings during the school term from 10am. CCC is held in the hall. |
| CHURCH MEETING. | The church meets to discuss and pray about church life and witness four times a year, normally after morning church. The AGM is held in July. |
| CHURCH USAGE. | The church facilities are available for personal or community use on an application basis. An application form and a list of conditions is available from the church office. Applications are considered by the Church Usage Team. |
| COMMUNITY FESTIVALS. | We take part in the Moonee Valley Children's Day activity in October and Carols by Candlelight. Both festivals are organised by the City of Moonee Valley and are held in Queens Park. |
| COMMUNITY MEAL | There is a meal every Monday night starting at 6pm. We meet and eat in the hall off the foyer. people we meet through Foodbank are invited to join us for the meal and friendship. We thoroughly enjoy ourselves and eat well! |
| CRE. | Christian Religious Education classes are held at four of the local primary schools. |
| CRECHE | operates each Sunday morning as a part of our 10am morning church. It is held in the children's centre down the ramp and off the car park. It includes a teaching segment for three year olds. |
| CROSSPATCH | is a craft group that meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7.30pm. |
| DEACONS. | The Deacons are members of the church who are appointed by the church meeting to oversight all matters relating to the church in association with the pastors. Each deacon is appointed for a term of two years. The Deacons meet each month. The Deacons appoint the Secretary and Treasurer for the church. They and the Senior Pastor make up the executive of the church. |
| FACT | stands for Fellowship and Catering Team. This team oversights all catering arrangements including morning teas, breakfasts, luncheons and suppers. |
| FLOWERS | are provided for the 10am service each week. Flowers are supplied and arranged by ladies on a roster basis. |
| FOODBANK | Food parcels are available. |
| Hi imPACT | Hi imPACT happens every Sunday morning when parents and children worship together. It starts at 10am. At about 10.30 the children go to creche, KOSMIC, Jam and the parents-they join the Worship Celebration. |
| HEALING MINISTRY | is held on the first Sunday of the month at noon. This is a time to bring before God prayers for ourselves and others specifically for healing in body, mind and spirit. |
| INTEREST FREE LOANS | Members and attenders of the church loan money at no or low interest to the church as a way of funding the rebuilding project. This scheme is managed by our treasurer. The money is at call and is guaranteed by a bank loan facility. |
| JAM | Jam stands for Jesus And Me and is the name given to our youth ministry. |
| KIDS' CLUB | Every Friday afternoon from 4pm till 5.15pm. From 3 year old to Year 6. |
| KOSMIC | stands for Kids On Sunday Morning In Church. Children from kindergarten up to and including grade 6 are in Kosmic each Sunday morning. |
| MEN'S MINISTRY | Through this ministry all men at MPBC would be drawn closer to God as well as seeing the strengthening of their families and the church. |
| MINISTRY TEAMS. | The various ministries of the church are done through ministry teams. Our aim is to have everyone involved in a ministry team as a way of serving the Lord and each other. |
| MISSIONS. | The church supports a number of missionary partners. The missions team meets each month on the second Tuesday. |
| MISSION TRIPS | The church supports an annual trip where some of us visit one of our missionary partners to encourage and assist wherever possible. |
| MUSICIANS AND SINGERS. | All musicians and singers are welcome to participate in our Sunday services. Rehearsals are held each Sunday at 9am. |
| OVER 25s | This group meets of a Thursday night for Bible study and also outings together. The more the merrier! |
| OUT AND ABOUTERS | have an activity each month. This group is made up of retirees and seniors. Apart from outings and pleasant afternoons there are three luncheons held throughout the year. |
| PASTORAL CARE. | The Pastoral Care team oversees pastoral care and prays. Much pastoral care happens in home groups. |
| PLAYGROUPS | are held each Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. These groups are run by the church. Other playgroups use the children's centre at other times. For further information on playgroups, contact Mrs Jess Weston via the church office on 03 9326 2499. |
| PROPERTY. | The rebuilding project commenced on Friday, 26th January, 1994. The property team meets each month and manages the rebuilding programme and all maintenance on the church property and the manse. |
| RESOURCE CENTRE | is open every Sunday morning after 10am morning church. Books, tapes, CD's magazines can be borrowed. Often there is a bookstall offering new books for sale. |
| ROSTERS | The following activities are done on a roster basis and you may like to join one of these rosters. Greeting, Kosmic, Resource Centre, Worship leading, music, creche, offering counting, communion, morning tea, suppers, flowers, lawns. |
| SMALL GROUPS | There is a variety of small groups to suit most age groups. They meet weekly or fortnightly during the week. More details from the Pastors. Ask them for a copy of the big list of small groups. |
| 10am SUNDAY CELEBRATION | every Sunday morning in the sanctuary. This service is followed by a cuppa in the Sunday School hall. Communion is held every first Sunday of the month. |
| WESTHAVEN | is a Baptist retirement facility in Footscray. Church members hold services there on the fourth Friday of the month. |
| YOUNG ADULTS | We are seeking ways to encourage 18-25s and just love having them as part of our church. More details from Pastor Jonathan |
| YOUTH | activities are held regularly for both junior and older teenagers. A list of activities is posted on the notice board in the foyer. |
